Avishan Saberian

Avishan Saberian is an NCCAOM Board-Certified Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.), Tai Ji Chuan, Tibetan Healing Yoga (Nejang), and Buteyko Breathing Educator (BBE) in Olympia, Washington.

Avishan earned her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the National University of Natural Medicine and her Bachelors of Science in Organismal Biology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. During her five and a half years of training in Classical Chinese Medicine, Avishan completed coursework in basic and specialized sciences and a variety of energetic and therapeutic modalities. Her great interest in breathing and nurturing the body's natural healing ability led Avishan to begin her in-depth studies of Tai Ji Chuan with Master Pikshan Ko in 2010. Since 2015 she has been teaching Tai Ji to both children and adults. Before leaving Portland Avishan also trained with naturopathic physician Dr. Sussanna Czeranko in the Buteyko Breathing Method.

Avishan’s healing and teaching practice are deeply influenced by her practice of Vajrayana Buddhism, as taught by her teachers Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche, a master of the Shije Chöd lineage and Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, a traditional Tibetan physician and lineage holder of the Yuthok Nyingthig, the unique spiritual tradition connected with Tibetan medicine. Under the guidance of Dr. Nida, Avishan developed ‘Sorig Kids,’ a program of study (and fun) integrating a variety of techniques from both the Tibetan medical and spiritual traditions, designed for children and families.
