Erik Jampa Andersson is a practitioner and teacher of Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig. Erik completed his classical training in the rGyud bZhi with the Shang Shung Institute of Tibetan Medicine, with additional training in Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig under Dr. Nida Chenagtsang. He is the owner of Shrīmālā Healing Arts, a private medical and astrological practice in Los Angeles, and is on faculty at the Sorig Institute School of Tibetan Medicine at Pure Land Farms.

A Buddhist practitioner since age 14, Erik found an early home in the Tibetan tradition under the close guidance of Lama Tsultrim Allione, Khenpo Urgyen Wangchuk, and other teachers in the Nyingma and Chöd traditions. After a stint in Tibetan Studies and Eastern Medicine at Naropa University, he undertook a five-year education in Tibetan Medicine between 2012-2017, training under senior Amchis such as Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo, Dr. Namgyal Tsering, Dr. Nyima Tsering, and other Sowa Rigpa physicians in America and Asia.

In addition to his activities with Sorig Khang International, Erik is an apprentice Dharma teacher, senior umdze (ritual leader), and chöpon (ritual arts specialist) in the Tara Mandala community. He is a longtime practitioner and specialist in the practice of Chöd, particularly of the healing Chöd rites of Machig Labdrön and the Yuthok Lujin.

Outside of the Tibetan tradition, Erik has undertaken training in western herbalism, Taoist medicine, Alchemical herbalism, and Plant-Spirit Healing. Following in the footsteps of Hippocrates and the world's great ancient physicians, he is also trained in the Tibetan, Hellenistic, and contemporary western traditions of Astrology and Astro-herbalism. In 2019, he began development of SKI’s official Tibetan Astrology curriculum with the HOT.
