In 2014 a chance meeting with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang in Singapore, a Tummo course and a visit to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's shrine room during the 3rd International Congress on Sowa Rigpa in Kathmandu put an end to her search for a spiritual home and established her connection with Tibetan Buddhism, Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig.
Since then, Renata Guedes Silva has done several retreats, courses, and initiations with Dr. Nida. In 2017, after 20 years living abroad (England, Canada, USA, and Singapore), she returned to Brazil and started Sorig Khang Belo Horizonte, bringing the Yuthok Nyingthig for the first time to the country. As a SKY teacher, she guides monthly Medicine Buddha practices, Ngondro retreats and teaches Nejang. She is also in charge of the translation of Dr. Nida's books into Brazilian Portuguese and of organizing SKY teachers' tours in Brazil.
Renata holds degrees in Journalism, Translation, Interpretation, and a Cambridge certificate of English as a Foreign Language teacher.
